Tree Cutters

Running late (because I was editing this blog), I arrived to Novie's about 20 minutes after my lesson was supposed to begin. Because Novie's super-cool and amazing, she wasn't too annoyed at having to wait, but it did only leave me with 40 minutes to record my xmas CD. Anyway, Novie was pretty cool about my hair. She said that she knows some singers (she is my voice coach) who have done a lot worse and that as long as its back to normal by the recital, she'll be fine.

However, Novie is not my purpose in blogging tonight. What I want to talk about is the blatant stares that I got from these tree cutters as I walked into Novie's studio/home. Normally, I do not get stares. Either these guys were really pathetic, or they were pointing at my hair.
Before I dyed my hair, I thought that I would feel powerful or even haughty when people stared at my hair -I was wrong. I always assumed that I would get that rebellious attitude and think "yeah, my hair's pink, so what?". Instead, I hurried up Novie's brick steps, wishing I could change my hair back or at least erase the image of the pointing tree-cutter out of my mind. I'm just as surprised at my reaction as anyone else, hehe. -Maybe I'm not as attention-needy as I had always considered myself.
I've actually been dreading going to o2 (highschool youthgroup at Northland) because I don't want everyone looking at me or coming up to me and asking why I did it. I think that was part of the reason I chose to go to Kobe's for dinner with my Pre-calc class instead of going to o2 this past wednesday. I'm still not decided on whether I'm scared of the attention from the Northland kids or if I'm scared that they will say that I did it just for the attention (ironic, aye?).

P.S.
My friends are reacting really well to my hair. Paul's eyes got huge and he took a step back when he saw me tonight at Tyler's. Tyler's mom was really cool about it, Paul's mom thought it was "interesting".
Kristin -"My dad would kill me if I did that!"
Senny -"Nooo! It's not blonde! oh my gosh!"
